Angela Titzrath (*1966), as a "change maker", quickly led the terminal operator HHLA to economic and sustainable success with innovative ideas, courage and stamina. Since the manager has led the company, the share price of HHLA has risen significantly, with the company's value rising by around 300 million euros. The CEO, who was born in Essen, has occupied new business fields and is driving forward the digitisation of the Port of Hamburg with future technologies such as drones and driverless transport vehicles.

- Angela Titzrath was born on April 30, 1966 in Essen.
- She studied economics and Romanistic philology at the Ruhr University in Bochum.
- Titzrath speaks five languages (English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and French).
- She began her career as Head of Operational and Strategic Controlling at Mercedes-Benz in Rome.
- From 1991 to 2012, she held various international top management positions within the Daimler Group, including CEO of Mercedes-Benz Credit of Canada, Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Credit of North America in the USA and European Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Bank. She also managed the DaimlerChrysler merger for all services and investments and was responsible for corporate strategy.
- From 2002, Titzrath was the commercial director of the Mercedes-Benz production plant in Spain and subsequently took over the position of the board member for sales, after-sales and logistics for the buses division of Daimler AG.
- In 2012, Titzrath was appointed to the board of management of Deutsche Post AG, where she was responsible for human resources until 2014. She then served as a member of the supervisory board of various companies and organizations. The manager also worked as a consultant and lecturer.

Merits
- When the supervisory board of HHLA brought Angela Titzrath to the helm of the terminal operator on January 1, 2017, the committee emphasized that the former Daimler and Deutsche Post manager was a "strong leader" and had a "pronounced ability to change". According to the jury, the 53-year-old successfully developed the company's core business and identified new business areas. HHLA is now the engine of digital change in the port.
- At the beginning of 2019, Titzrath presented positive business figures for 2018: Group sales grew by 3.1 percent to 1.29 billion euros. At 204 million euros, operating profit exceeded the previous year's result by almost 18 percent. Around 43 million euros were distributed to HHLA's majority shareholder, the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. This is about 20 percent more than in the previous year. For the first half of 2019, the company recently reported an increase in sales of 9.6 percent and a 14.4 percent increase in consolidated operating profit (EBIT). Since Titzrath took over the management of the company, the HHLA share price has risen significantly and the company value has risen by around 300 million euros.
- In future, the Essen-born manager intends to develop HHLA into a digital hub along the transportation flows of the future. Titzrath is therefore committed to ensuring that industrial technologies of the future are located in open spaces in the port of Hamburg. HHLA itself has already launched several digital projects. For example, the company is cooperating with truck manufacturer MAN in the field of intuitive mobility. They are working together on solutions so that autonomous trucks can drive on the HHLA terminal facilities.
- Titzrath attracted international attention when she announced a joint venture between HHLA and the American company Hyperloop Transportation Technologies. The aim was to develop a transhipment station in the Port of Hamburg that would allow sea containers to enter the Hyperloop tube system. The innovative transport technology will help to make the transport infrastructure around the port more environmentally friendly. The innovation agenda of HHLA also includes drone technology and additive manufacturing.
- The supervisory board of HHLA paid tribute to the achievements of the CEO and extended her contracts by five years until 1 October, 2024. The manager magazine ranks Titzrath among the 100 most influential business women in Germany.
