Lynn C. Fritz Medal 2026: Application phase to begin

The Logistics Hall of Fame is accepting online applications until May 5. International award once again recognizes excellent supply chain solutions from humanitarian organizations this year.

The application portal for the Lynn C. Fritz Medal for Excellence in Humanitarian Logistics is open again. Humanitarian organizations and development aid actors are invited to submit their successfully implemented logistics projects via the Logistics Hall of Fame website and apply for the prestigious international award.

With the Lynn C. Fritz Medal, the Logistics Hall of Fame and the Fritz Institute in San Francisco, donor of the award, draw attention to the central importance of efficient logistics in humanitarian aid. The aim is to highlight outstanding projects that make a significant contribution to improving aid operations through innovative logistics approaches.

“Humanitarian aid often takes place under extreme conditions. The fact that functioning supply chains are a essential prerequisite for effective support is often underestimated,” emphasizes jury chairman Thilo Jörgl. “The Lynn C. Fritz Medal has set itself the task of highlighting precisely these achievements and showing what a difference professional supply chain management can make – given that logistics costs account for up to 80 percent of the total expenditure of humanitarian missions.” At the same time, the award is intended to draw the attention of potential donors and partners to outstanding projects and achievements by humanitarian organizations.

The Lynn C. Fritz Medal will be presented at the annual Logistics Hall of Fame gala reception, which will take place in Vienna this year.

The following criteria apply to applications: Submitted projects must be completed and have proven their effectiveness in practice. Concepts or plans alone are not eligible. Applications should explain why a project is innovative, sustainable, or particularly efficient, and how it serves as a model for humanitarian logistics. Collaborative projects involving multiple partners are also eligible. The results achieved must not be more than three years old. The online application process is clearly structured and can be completed in less than four hours.

After the application deadline, an Expert Council will first make a preliminary selection of the most convincing applications. The final decision on the winner will then be made by an international jury. The criteria are the quality and impact of the project, regardless of the origin, size, or reputation of the organization. Applications can be submitted free of charge in German or English online at www.logisticshalloffame.net until May 5, 2026.
